"YESHUA RABBONI"
| When we decided to
remodel our church Sanctuary last year, I made up my mind to repaint
my nearly-life-size portrait of Jesus that had been so prominently
displayed there. The old one was done with lots of purples and
mauves ... But it also made Jesus look like a Hollywood movie star.
So I determined that this one would portray Jesus as Jewish
and wearing a tallit, or prayer shawl, since He was called
rabbi during his last 3 1/2 years on earth.

"HOKEY POKEY"
A 1985 Vanagon Westfalia Camper by Volkswagon
painted for Dean and Kathy
Williams
They stopped making these in 1991
and, while not entirely vintage, are highly sought after with an extremely loyal
following.
The scene here is from a state park
in Maryland called Big Run , which is a campground in the New Germany State
Forest.

"Patty Moore"
My
Friend and Long-time Art Student
Patty Moore's sisters planned
a surprise party for her on the occasion of her 60th birthday in May 2007. Because Patty has done multiple portraits of her siblings in my
Monday Night Class over the years, they thought it only appropriate that her
teacher (me) should do a portrait of her as a little girl!
This was one of the easiest paintings I have
ever done. Knowing Patty as well as I do -
she's been coming out here for over 20 years now - it was no struggle to get her
likeness. Wish every portrait were this easy!

THE GRIZZLY BEAR DOOR
I painted this on my husband's office door, here at the
house. He is an avid lover of big game animals so I did this as a surprise for
him recently.
There is a cute story to go with it: I waited for David to
leave for downtown before taking the door off its hinges and bringing it into my
studio to paint. He came home early, though, but went back to his office and
proceeded to sit at the computer. Sometime later, when I went back to ask him
what he wanted for lunch, he casually asked me, "By the way, what happened to my
door?" Aside from the fact the hinge pins were lying on the floor, he didn't
think enough about it to come and find out where it had gone!
This is an acrylic painting. (Notice the doorknob on the
left.)
I also have a smaller version ... Oil on canvas.

"GIANT RECREATION WORLD"
This Melbourne, FL dealership sells
Coachmen products, so I was able to include one of their older model motor homes
along with the owner's classic '57 Corvette. I added a 1952 winged Shasta
and 1957 Comet travel trailer to make the scene look more vintage.

Baptistry Painting for Pleasant Hill Baptist
Church
Wills Point, Texas
Julie Lyons (standing with the
painting) asked me to paint this stained glass window for the baptistry of their
new sanctuary. It measures 5 1/2 feet wide by 8 feet tall! I built the stretcher
bars myself and enlisted my dear husband when it came time to stretch the
canvas. I opted to paint it in acrylics in the comfort of our Fellowship Hall
rather than trying to do it on the wall of their church. I believe at 62 I am a
tad too old to be hanging off a ladder while trying to paint.

to be able to offer art prints to their motor home guests.

SKY RIVER RV
2525 Theatre Drive
Paso Robles, CA 93446
Some of the employees at SKY RIVER RV
got together and commissioned this painting for their boss for Christmas. I
chose casein on illustration board because it is so wonderful to photograph if
the painting has to do double-duty as wall art and advertising art.
"Paige... It looks great! Thank you very
much. You did such a wonderful job with it. I love the way you were able to
get all the elements into it, from the Airstreams to the Motorhomes to the
Service department to the sign...it is wonderful! I can't wait for Bill to see
it. I think it will mean a lot to him to receive such a thoughtful gift.
Thank you Paige!" (E-mail received from Kellee Rasor - Sky
River RV)
