"Heading Home"
A vintage Silver Streak travel trailer winds its
way back home ... Inspired by real life Houston County Road here in East
Texas, this painting was begun as a demonstration for the Greenville Art
League, May 2006.
Pastel
on sanded paper. 18" x 26" NFS

"The
Old Smokehouse at Orchard Hills"
This was a demonstration in pastel
painting for the Mineola League of the Arts (MLOTA).
The subject came from my grandfather's farm in Barboursville, West
Virginia. This fine, old brick structure is still in place, although the
farm is now a nine-hole golf course. Still, isn't it comforting to know
that some things never change?
Pastel on sanded paper. 17" X
25" Collection of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert H. Estler

"Water Grasses"
This was also a demonstration in
pastel painting. It is
rendered on Terracotta Art Spectrum Paper and is now happily adorning a
wall in my studio.
18" X 26"
Custom
matted and framed $600.

"Blue Teapot"
Collection of the artist
Pastel on Canson paper. This was
done in the early 1980's and has been one of my personal favorites. NFS

"Bittie"
This is a portrait of my cat who was a
constant companion until she passed away in January 2003.
Pastel on Sanded
Paper. 18" x 24" Custom matted and Framed - NFS
Collection
of the artist.

"The Green Gate"
I painted this as a demo for a Dallas Christian school. Actually,
I recycled the paper. It began as a pastel landscape by a student
who abandoned it ...Two years later I washed the pastel off in the kitchen sink and
started all over again. Wanting to do something with hollyhocks, I kind of made it up as I went along.
Pastel on
sanded paper. 18" x 24"
Custom matted and Framed
$500.

"Stringtown Road"
This painting was of my sister's road at Hico, West
Virginia, which was covered with "red dog," a slate-like by-product
of coke ovens, and is naturally a red-orange in color. I won Best of Show
in March 2003 at the Mineola League of the Arts (MLOTA) Annual Fine Art
Exhibit.

"Mary Katherine and Her Looking
Glass"
My grandfather William S. Estler originally
photographed this scene of his only daughter, little red-headed Mary
Katherine, in 1919, so the origin of this pastel rightfully belongs to
him ... He used an old-fashioned box camera with a
gun powder flash to capture it! His original photograph was also published in
"Woman's Home Companion" magazine that year.
Pastel on Canson
Paper 19" x 25"

 "Sunshine!"
A tribute to sunflowers, one of my favorite flowers to paint.
Pastel
on Sanded Paper 13 1/2" x 18"
Custom matted and
Framed - $400.

"Cocky Guy"
The original of this print was created on
stretched, sanded canvas. My model was part of a small band of renegade
chickens that visited our backyard for several weeks before roving
coyotes picked them off, one by one. I hated to see them go.
"Afternoon Nap"
One more (shameless) opportunity to paint my cat Bittie ...
Pastel on Sanded Paper 18" x 24" Custom matted and
Framed.
Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mikos

Pastel on Velour Paper - A humorous rendition for a good
friend of mine who runs a B&B on a working farm.
"Tribute to
Bittie" When Bittie died, I painted this
portrait of her, doing what she did best: napping. I still miss her ...
